Recommended needle

Leather needle

Recommended size

80/12–90/14

Why?

A leather needle cuts a controlled path through genuine leather, but machine capability, leather thickness and finish can change the best choice.

Tips

  • Every penetration is permanent, so avoid dense designs, backtracking and unnecessary restitching.
  • Use a simple design and float the leather to prevent hoop marks.
  • Confirm that the machine manufacturer permits leather needles for embroidery.
  • Test the complete setup on a scrap or hidden area before embroidering the final item.
