Many blankets are soft, stretchy or textured, so permanent backing gives reliable support and topper controls raised fibres.

Practical tips

  • Support the blanket weight so it cannot pull on the hoop.
  • Hoop without stretching and float very bulky blankets if needed.
  • Use topper whenever the surface has visible pile.
