The stiff, curved crown needs strong cap backing to resist flagging and keep the design registered.

Practical tips

  • Use a cap frame and flatten the embroidery area as much as the construction allows.
  • Start near the centre seam and work outward.
  • Avoid designs that are too tall for the usable cap area.
